What is the deal? I went to the doctor’ office for a check up and had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes. I hate that! Like my time isn’t valuable? I had an appointment, arrived early to fill out any paperwork (there’s always paperwork) and waited. I think I will start billing the doc for my time. After he doesn’t pay me I’ll sue his ass. It’s that simple. I used this technique with my former dentist. I was always seen promptly. I know why they over book appointments too. That’s what really pisses me off. The doc’s sit around in their meeting and decide they need a new Lexus or Boat or Club Membership Dues. They do the math and figure out if they saw another 15 suckers a day at x amount per visit, it will only take 2 months for their new purchases. What is the deal with all the drug dealers? They parade in with free samples and free lunch. They give kickbacks to the docs for writing scripts. What a racquet! Doctors have a hide it or cut it out mentality. Let’s disguise the problem with some pill and if that doesn’t work we’ll cut the problem out.
Here’s a frightening story. My wife’s grandfather suffered an injury that let him bed ridden. First the docs medicated. Then they took out one body part which caused problems so another part came out. Then limbs came off. I swear, in 7 years the docs slowly dismembered this man until all insurance money or government money was gone. It was a very sad situation indeed. On the bright side, his coffin was cheaper because it was smaller.

I just enrolled Quint into Kindergarten. He is looking forward to school. He wants to start now. He now starts his Government indoctrination. He will soon learn that Government is his friend. He will learn the dynamics of communism by sharing his school supplies. He will learn that government grants privileges. I just want him to learn the basics of reading, writing, and mathematics. For years, we debated with parents, friends, and ourselves over the advantages of Home Schooling. I want to home school our kids. However, I don’t think we as parents are equipped to fully educate our children. Certainly, we will supplement their education. I can hardly wait to chastise and belittle some liberal educator. Maybe we will home school when middle school starts.

Sorry about the pictures and large file sizes. I realize not everyone has a DSL connection. I will optimize photos better in the future.
I know that I said that I wasn’t going to keep talking about camping, however, after reading Acidman’s Blog, I thought I would respond.
I too have been backpacking and camping since I was a young boy. I still have a desire to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. I just can’t take 6 months off to do it. I want to teach my children the ways of the woods. I want them to be able to survive should the Apocalypse happen. I can hardly wait for my son to reach huntin’ age. I hunt, his grand father hunts. We all enjoy the bounty that nature provides. I will teach my daughter the same way. Campfire coffee is the best.

Although I’ve been back from the forest for three days, a piece of the stream lives within me. I had a chance to focus on the things that are important to me.

Staring into the campfire, I became lost in a surreal realm of relaxation. Man, I feel good! I wanted to share just a few more pictures with you. My youngest is Devin. He is just over a year old. His older brother is Quint (he is the 5th generation) he is almost 6 years old and about to start school. Ashlyn is my little princess. She will be three this fall.

I figure that camping is an art form. Try to cram as much crap into your truck remembering that you have no electricity and no running water. It’s hard to believe civilization lasted with out those two basic elements for thousands of years. It’s good to get away from the trappings of the modern age. (Only for a brief time)

I have become a camping junkie. I’ve been reading about campgrounds, hiking trails, and even thinking about getting a new vehicle to transport the family and all our gear. I used to hike and camp earlier in my life. Now that I’m older, I want to go back to all those places I didn’t appreciate when I was a kid. I want to pass along the experience along to my children. When I get a little more time I’ll post the pictures. I really like the fact that this new job allows me to take time off to do things with my family. It hasn’t always been that way. I used to work 6 to 7 days a week. Even though I don’t make the same amount of money, I get 2 days off a week and sometimes it’s two consecutive days. Now that the kids are getting older, it has become more important to spend time with them. Camping is perfect family time. Maybe I just like to play with fire…I don’t know.
